Candy Corn Crackle

Today I've got another
simple but very festive mani,
Candy Corn Crackle!

I started with a White base, using Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Then I did a sponge gradient of Orange & Yellow 1/3 way down
the nail to create me candy corn.
I used a cosmetic sponge with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in
Sun Kissed and Mellow Yellow.

Once the gradient was dry, I applied a single layer of
Barry M.'s Instant Nail Effects crackle polish in Black.

I topped it off with 1 coat of Gelous top coat,
followed by Out The Door top coat,
because the crackle really does soak up alot of top coat.
I could probably even have used a 2nd coat.

I know most are over the crackle look,
but I still really love my crackles and I loved the thought of using some for Halloween!

Autumn Dotticure

YAY!
My first "Autumn" mani of the season.
If anyone knows me, they are well aware of
my massive love for not only Autumn,
but for Halloween!
So I'm excited to share the first official
Autumn themed mani.

Taking a cue from A Girl and Her Polish
and her gorgeous dotticure seen here
I imitated her same look, but just changed up the colors.

My base is NYX Girls polish in - Perfect Gray

Then using assorted sized dotting tools, I made the dots
using these colors

Sinful Colors in - Snow Me White
Sally Hansen, Xtreme Wear in - Sun Kissed
Wet & Wild, Wild Shine in - Black Creme

A simple look, but I love it all the same!

Happy Independence Day!

What do you do when you can't decide between
gradient, stamped, or glitter nails for your holiday manicure?

You choose all three!

I started with Wet n Wild's French White Creme,
applied a single coat of Dollish Polish It's A Me, Mario!
And then sponged  Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue & All Fired Up on
my tips, alternating the colors on each nail.

Lastly, using Konad plate M3, I stamped silver stars along the
side of each gradient, using Barry M. Instant Nail Effects in Silver Foil

It's raining tons over here on the Eat Coast today,
so who knows if I'll make that BBQ, but at least
my nails look good!

Happy July 4th all you fellow Americans!

Candy Splatter

Rather than narrow down a single shade for my mani's,
lately I've been having lots of fun using multiple colors
for sponging, gradients, and marbling and
I've been having a blast!
Here is my most recent look,
using some candy inspired shades topped with black and white splatter.

I Love My......Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat

 I think that Sally Hansen's
Insta-Dri top coat is one of the best, yet one of the most over-looked top coats available on the market today.

I, myself am guilty  for walking by this little gem on several occasions.

But, a few months back, fellow YouTuber Mary, aka Getting Nailed
did a test of several different top coats.
She tested the speed of dryness
durability, and most importantly, the smudge proof test.

Don't know what I' referring to?
Let me give you an example.
Have you ever painted a nail design,
and then wanting to seal in your hard work, you applied a top coat only to have it smear your work?

Oh yes, we've all been there.

With Mary's testing, she proved that Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri not only dried just as fast as some other main top coats such as Seche Ultra V & OPI Top Coat, but each and every application was smear-free.

And ever since then, it has become a staple in my daily nail life!
I still have a few other top coats lingering around, and if I'm applying just a single wash of color, but for all the designs I do, THIS
is the only top coat I'll ever use!

What's your favorite top coat?
Have you tried Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri top coat before?

Sally Hansen Swatches from Yesterday's Haul

I tried my best to capture the true color of these wonderful colors.
I did alright, but they aren't fantastic.
Take my word for it, these polishes are worth hunting for.
"Sea And Be Seen"
2 coats over base coat of China Glaze "Secret Peri-Wink-le"
Nice frosty periwinkle

"Silver Lining"
2 coats, no base
SUPER pretty!

"Lagoon"
2 coats, no base
This polish literally glows, its SO gorgeous!

"Hidden Treasure"
1 coat over 1 coat of China Glaze - Heli-yum

Grrrrr I fought with the camera to get the colors and flakes to show up, but alas I couldn't truly capture it's beauty. But I assure you, this flakey polish is heavenly!!

Small Haul....Big on Color...

 Now,I must confess that lately,
I've been trying my hardest to avoid the nail polish displays in ANY store, because I've just got SO much....but as any self-respecting nail polish addict would know, this is much easier said than done.

I was strolling down the cosmetics isle in my local Walgreen's today, innocently wandering towards the shampoo when something caught my eye.
My first response to myself was
"KEEP WALKING!"
But the light was hitting the display in just a way that all the sparkly goodness was drawing me in.

I just had to stop and look.

The new spring Sally Hansen SALON Manicure collection was perfectly on display right in front of my eyes.

Shimmery
multi-dimensional
beautiful

It's been a while since I've seen a polish that makes me weak in the knees with lust....but here I was in the middle of the store, wobbling on two feet like a 13 yr. old seeing her 1st crush.

These colors are just like nothing I've seen in a while!!
In the midst of all my giddy excitement, I threw 7 bottles in my cart.

After walking through the store and talking myself down,
I decided to choose the best 4 polishes out of what I had.

"Lagoon"

This is an AMAZING teal, with gold & green pearl undertones.
I love teal, I own alot of teal polishes...and this one is going straight to the top of my list.

"Sea And Be Seen"

This is a Periwinkle, a purple-ish-blue shade with the finest grade of sliver and teal glitter in it. You've got to see it in person,
my camera just couldn't capture the uniqueness of this color.

"Silver Lining"

Another incredibly unique color.
What an appropriate name.
This is a silver with ultra fine grade teal glitter.
I've never seen anything quite like it. When in direct light, it is almost like a dual-chrome bouncing back from the teal to the silver.
Simply gorgeous.

"Hidden Treasure"

Well ain't that the truth.
Oh. My. God.
This color is right up there with Nfu-Oh, maybe even better.
Oh yeah, I said it.
In the picture it is almost a creamy yellow, but it's not even close.
It's a cross between a gold and a lime...but does it matter?
Nope, cause it's what's inside that is pure heaven.
Opalescent flame orange-red chunky flakes with just a hint of green.
It's essentially a top coat to make even the most boring of colors literally come to life.
If there was ever a color that I were to say you MUST have, it is this gem right here.

NOTD

I decided to coordinate with the outfit I plan on wearing for my son's birthday party today.

A Moonicure with Sally Hansen's Salon Manicure in -"Gilty Pleasure" for the base & Nfu-Oh's # 52 for the moon tip.

Really pretty color combo, gives an almost aquatic feel to it.
