Weekend Mani

This is my Thanksgiving, into Black Friday, into weekend mani,
because let's face it,
with the crazy shopping deals so many stores have out there this weekend,
there is no time for switching mani's!
It's a good thing I really like this color combination,
since I'm going to be staring at it for a few days :D

Pokemon Nails!

I can't tell you how many times I've been asked
to do a tutorial for Pokemon nails....
even from my daughter who is a
complete Pokemon fanatic.
so, here ya go, simple. but extremely cute if I do say so myself,
and I'm not even a fan lol

Glittery Peacock

Here's a design from all things,
a Christmas ornament.
I found these peacock ornaments in Walmart
the other week and I absolutely fell in love with them!!
The moment I grabbed them, I just knew I had to
make it into a nail design

PRODUCTS USED:

Pro Nail Systems Base Coat
Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in - Going Green
L.A.Girls Glitter Addict in - Purge
Model's Own in - Purple Haze
Milani in - Blue Lightening
So Easy Stripe Rite in - Metallic Gold
Blue Teardrop Rhinestones

On a side note,
as time goes by,
I am having more and more difficulty
struggling to make a decent design
with my carpal tunnel syndrome.

I refuse to give up my love for nail art.
Surgery is not an option for me at this time.
I already have braces, but they only do so much.
If anyone else is struggling with
similar issues and you have an ointment or technique that
works for you, please share it with me as I'm
becoming increasingly frustrated with my mangled hands!

Kleancolor - Chunky Black Holo

A Grey tinted jelly with multi-sized hex holo glitters
that reflect from
Red - Orange - Yellow - Green
A single layer over a basic black cream
and you've got magic on your nails!
My only gripe about this polish is that
for whatever reason, Kleancolor's
jelly's take AGES to dry.

The trick is to use extremely thin coats and
wait at least 30 minutes between coats.
I know, ridiculous, right?
For some shades I wouldn't bother, but this one
it's worth the slow process.
YUMMY!

ma.nish.ma. polishes

So I was in Rite aid the other day
picking up the basic necessities,
when I couldn't help myself but to wander over to
the polish section to see if any new goodies were there.

I discovered this little of ma.nish.ma polishes from Hedy's.
I was somewhat familiar with Hedy's, having done
previous posts about some of their nail art stickers,
here. and also their Oke Doke polishes, here.
But never had seen these ma.nish.ma. polishes,
so naturally my curiosity got the best of me.

There are just 3 shades available

All 3 are duochromes with fine shimmery glitter.

Beyond Opal flashing from Green to Orange
Way Out Fuscia flashing from Hot Pink to Blurple
Blaster from Purple to Blue

The formula is very nice, but they are certainly
nothing to write home about.
They are extremely sheer,
these swatches are with 4 coats and still
they could have used another coat or 2.

So, realizing that they would be much better suited as
a top coat, I layered all 3 over black.

WOW!
Now we're talking!
The colors come to life with just a single coat over black,
bringing out both the duochrome & the fine glitter/shimmer.
DELISH!

While the shades aren't terribly unique,
 with lots of dupes
Beyond Opal is an EXACT dupe for Jessie's Gurl - Fire Fly
Still, they are quite lovely.
If you happen to see them, I'd say have a 2nd look.

Each bottle is .22 oz. and retails for $3.99 each
