Cherry On Top Award

I'm usually pretty bad at these things, so forgive to those who've given me the honor of an award in the past, but this time I actually remembered to re-post!
( I swear I'd forget my head if it weren't attached!)
I received this award from Enamel Girl
She is super sweet and has an adorable blog, check her out!

Rules of this award are:

1. Thank the person who gave this award to you.

Thanks Enamel Girl!

2.Copy the award and put it on your blog.

I do believe I just did :)

3.List 3 things which you love about your self.

I love being a passionate person.
When something is important to me, I put my heart and soul into it,
and I'm always rewarded 10 fold.

I love and am so proud to be a mother. Motherhood teaches you
lessons in life that no other circumstance could,
and my kids have made me strive to be a better person, everyday.
I love that I am a creative person. Creativity is like air to me,
and if my mind isn't thinking of something new to create,
or my hands aren't busy creating, I don't feel myself.

  4.Post a picture you love.

I love this picture because it symbolizes many things to me. My love of color, my love of Autumn, and a long and endless road that we all travel through life. It's simply a beautiful picture.

5.Tag 5 people you wish to pass this award on to.

The Daily Nail - Because I truly admire her dedication for doing a new nail design everyday, not to mention that her designs are fantastic and creative and the names she picks for them are hilarious.

Deez Nailz  - One of the first nail blogs I ever followed, her creativity keeps me inspired.

GETCHA NAILS DID - Because her blog is just awesome in so many countless ways!

The Manicured Manatee - Because if this woman never did another swatch again ( and her swatches are incredible) I'd still be a loyal follower because her stories and her humor are beyond compare.

Nail Talez - A follower both here and on You Tube, she blows me away with her amazing talent, and I am always looking forward to what she will come up with next!

Thank you again to, Enamel Girl for the honor of this award and also giving me the chance to share the award with others!

DECO DEN!

I'm obsessed with Deco Den and I REALLY wanted a Deco Den case for my phone...but I'm sure alot of you have seen some of the hefty price tags that come along with them.

No way was going to pay that kind of money for something I knew I could do myself.
so I picked up a few cheap cases and went to town.

This is the end result.

If you are interested in how I did this, check out the video below.

I LOVE IT!!

I think it turned out really well!

I can't wait to make more!!

Mini Haul

You guys kill me.

Ya really do.
I've been so good not buying any new polishes...because my cramped space just can't handle it....but you've weakened me!

Seeing all your fantastic hauls and your beautiful swatches of some really great colors, I went out and picked up a few. I just had to.

** Hangs head in shame **

Ok, enough of that....onto the polish!
Now, I know that I've seen at least 3, if not all 4 of these colors swatched on recent blogs.
IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!
LOL just kidding,
these colors that you picked I fell in love with and just had to pick them up.
Forgive me,
I read so many of your awesome blogs, that I do not remember which colors I was where....but you know who you are!
Thanks for these great colors.

So, starting from the left....

Sally Hansen's HD Nail Color in Spectrum

Petites Polish in - Black Diamond
Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in - Going Green

Sinful Colors in - Boogie Nights
Sally Hansen's Spectrum, while uber pretty, is very sheer and it needed 4 coats for me to get any sort of opaqueness to the color. But oh what a color it is.
Very shimmery and a cross between a royal blue and a turquoise. In the bottle it has reflects of purple, but I've yet to see it. Grant it, I haven't worn this polish out to capture it in natural light, so we'll see.

Black Diamond if my first black holo.
I know! pity the thought that I didn't have one in my collection. I've found in the past that the Petites formula isn't the greatest, but I was really impressed with this. I only needed 1 coat and it looked beautiful.  This color is not your typical holo, it's on the sutble side...but I am loving it just the same.

Sally Hansen's Going Green
. Ugh...I've been searching for this one for a while. I was desperate for a really true vibrant kelly green and here it is. Of course no sooner do I find it, Essie comes out with "pretty Edgy"....and who knows, maybe I'll get that one too, but I am very pleased with this color.  Again, very good formula and I could've gotten away with 1 coat, but I went for 2 just to give it that really solid, bold color. LOVE IT.

Sinful Colors in Boogie Nights. First off, let me just say that if you aren't familiar with the brand, then you are seriously overdue. Not only are they extremely reasonable at just $1.99 a bottle, but Sinful Colors has recently changed their formula and it is fabulous....and it wasn't bad before.
Nothing too special with this color, it's a very standard Coral creme.
But this color is a staple in my summer wardrobe and I wear it non-stop on my toes. I can't tell you how many variations of Coral polish I've gone through, but the number is ridiculous.
But for me, it just doesn't seem like summer without a great Coral on my feetsies!

Better After Submission

Ever hear of it??

If you say no, then you are SERIOUSLY missing out.

This is one of the best blogs of come across that isn't nail related.
GASP!
Yup, I said it.

This blog is all about your before/after photos.
What I mean is....finding an old table, and then re-doing it into something that not only looks gorgeous but can also be re-purposed.
This is great for garage sale finds. But there is such a wide spectrum of before and afters. Including re-decorating, re-models....

So, I decided to send in my submission.
I bought this co-op with my husband in 2002...and we've been working on it ever since. We got it at a steal, but the place was a hole and needed a major overhaul. Old cracked walls, out dated appliances and mauve carpeting throughout.
MAUVE!!!
YUCK!

Anyways....alot of sweat and elbow grease has gone into this place.

Here's my Before/ After of my living-dining room combo.

BEFORE

AFTER

If you haven't checked out this blog, I highly recommend that you do. It will give you so much inspiration to tackle things you never thought possible!

Time to make the Doughnuts...

In honor of today, June 4th, National Doughnut Day, I decided to pull out this relic of a commercial that I still think of evertime I cross the threshold of a Dunkin' Doughnuts.

Anyone remember this commercial?

Not that our waistlines need any encouragement,
but Krispy Kreme is giving out free doughnuts to customers today,
no purchase necessary.

Dunkin' Doughnuts is also giving free doughnuts with the purchase of a beverage.

EAT UP!

HAPPY DOUGHNUT DAY!
